What I'm Doing Now
This is a now page, meant to give an overview of what I am currently up to.
Building this website
Moving more slowly now as I have all the bits to do stuff.
When I get annoyed writing blog posts in markdown and merging a git repo, I'll probably add a database.
Building a financial portfolio tracker.
As discussed in the blog, I wrote/vibed an app that will help me maintain my target financial portfolio.
The main feature is, given a 'model' which defines 'groups' of stocks, and their weightings, and then given my current holdings, tell me where I should put future investments in order to achieve my target weightings.
Off Parental Leave
Nose back to the grindstone.
My workplace has been AI-pilled and... I think I'm getting there too
Renovating almost done
We have some unfinished plastering to do but its summer and we ran out of budget to have other people do it. I'll find time... eventually.
Getting better at doing projects around the house. Managed to replace a faucet AND the wall valves!
What I'm Reading Now
- Dawnshard Wait, didn't you JUST read Wind and Truth? I did, dear reader, but these books literally came out forever ago and I hoovered up a lot of cosmere books in the meantime. It's been really fun picking up on all the easter eggs I missed the first time around.
- Designing Data-Intensive Applications, 2nd Edition is supposed to be a good update from the first edition, much more cloud-oriented which will be more relevant to my work.
What I'm Playing Now
- Hollowknight Silksong Played it once already but I love this series and it's something, uh, 'easy' for me to unwind with.
- Gamble with your friends Such a dumb game. Luckily, playing with your friends is definitely a 'hilarity ensues' sort of endeavour.
- Horizon Forbidden West is huge, with the negative amount of time I have available now it will take eons to finish. Still, as a fan of the first game, it's more of the same, which I'm totally fine with.
